The Green Hectares Community Connector develops and taps into a network of existing educational programs, training and business services and brings them to people living in rural communities. Delivered online and in-person, we provide timely and easy access to programs and services for entrepreneurs, farmers and producers, families and community members.
In your community
We believe people should be able to learn in their own community and not have to travel far to get the support and information they need. Our services are delivered in halls and meeting venues in any community, both big and small. No matter how small or remote, we’ll bring our mobile computer labs and staff to your local hall or public meeting place.
How it works
No two rural areas are alike. That’s why, when we partner with a community, we first perform an assessment to find established and available programs, facilities, experts or resources that exist. We consider the local economy, demographics and the culture of the area to help customize our support.
Next, we determine where there are gaps or unmet needs. Then, armed with the latest technology, our staff bring everything together to help the area’s entrepreneurs and residents access the personalized information, assistance and resources they need.
Using our mobile computer lab and existing community spaces, we offer everything from two-hour training, drop-in sessions, to one-on-one mentorship and consultations. We also work closely with existing groups, like the local chamber of commerce, agriculture society, CALC, local colleges and many others.
